London's Covent Garden hosted a small Mercury Prize ceremony this morning, announcing the shortlist for this year's award. While Alex Turner followed the Arctic Monkeys nods of the past two years with a Last Shadow Puppets mention (The Age of the Understatement), Robert Plant (his Alison Krauss collaboration, Raising Sand) and Radiohead (In Rainbows) are 2008's biggest nominees. Us, we're hoping Burial scoops up a win on September 9 for Untrue, since the dubstep pioneer avoids any and all public appearances.
